Trucks

Over 200 big rigs converge at the Sandgate Fruit Markets, creating an awesome sight, in preparation for formation of the convoy. The route takes this massive line-up, under police escort, along the highway, via Mayfield, Islington and Hunter St, through to the east end of Newcastle and Newcastle’s Foreshore. The trucks are then parked in formation for the judging of the various award categories and public display. Read our Truckies_Top_Ten_Tips.

Convoy

Vehicles are able to arrive at Sandgate Fruit Markets from 6am on the morning of the Event.

A gold coin donation B-B-Q breakfast is available onsite, producing a variety of culinary delights to consume.

The parade departs en route to the foreshore at 9:30am.

You need to register to be a part of the convoy. You can Register to be in the Convoy in advance, and registration will be available on the day. To enable trucks to form and avoid delays we recommend registration prior to the day.

Parade leader

How would you like to lead the Convoy?

The Parade Leader position is gained as a result of successful bidding for the status. If you would like further details of this most prestigious position, please indicate interest by marking the box provided when filling out the online Convoy Application.

A member of our ‘Parade Entry Division’ will make contact with you to answer any questions you may have and guide you through the simple process.

Best Presented Award

Awards are given to the best presented trucks in the following categories.

• Best presented working vehicle in parade:
  • Up to 1 year old
  • 1-5 years old 
  • 5-10 years old 
  • Over 10 years old
• Best presented working fleet in parade (3 or more trucks)
• Best presented working rigid truck in parade
• Best presented working prime mover in parade
• Best presented working interstate over 10yo in parade
• Best presented overall vehicle in parade
• Best presented European Truck

Presentation of the awards will take place on the day.

Lucky Truckie Prize

Thanks to our friends at West Tankers, we are able to make this opportunity possible. A prize of $500 fuel will be awarded to one Lucky Truckie, kindly donated by West Tankers

To be eligible for this fantastic prize, all you need to do is sign up & participate in the Convoy and you will receive automatic entry into our Lucky Truckie Prize. The winning entry will be drawn out of the barrel at the Main Stage during the Awards Presentation on the Day.
