2012 Road Transport Awareness Day
SUNDAY 4th November 2012
Newcastle Foreshore.
Well, what a fantastic day for Road Transport Awareness Day on Sunday 6th November, a total of 120 trucks left the Sandgate Markets for their convoy to the beautiful Newcastle Foreshore. A huge thanks to the fleets and drivers who prepared the vehicles.
The entertainment and trade displays were kept busy all day, and the kids rides & truck display were again very popular.
We have uploaded some images of the 2011 event on
Once again thanks for all the support of the drivers, fleets, major sponsors, exhibitors and volounteers who made the day a huge success.
What is the day all about?
The Road Transport Awareness Day is all about creating a transparent environment in which we can all gain knowledge & insight into the Transport and Logistics industry. Currently there is a skill shortage in a number of areas within the industry and studies indicate that the freight task will double by 2020!
Road Transport is divided into freight & passenger services. It moves over 1.5 billion tonnes per year, in over half a million vehicles. Road transport employs around half of the people in the transport & Logistics Industry. If you want an independent lifestyle and enjoy the great outdoors, this is the sector for you.
The Newcastle & Hunter Region Road Transport Awareness Group is proud to present this showcase of our Industry.
Please join us, it would be great to see you there.
